Sustainability
Vivid Cottage believes that sustainability is part of delivering quality products. Sustainability includes reducing, reusing, and recycling waste, but also so much more — sourcing locally, partnering with minority and/or women-owned businesses, and committing ourselves to a sustainable lifestyle outside of the products themselves.
We source our materials carefully, and by sharing information about our process, we hope to give customers a better idea of where the products they are holding and gifting come from.
Circularity
​We strive to create products with a circular life cycle by reusing and recycling materials as much as possible. This means that when the material is used once, it will be repurposed as opposed to thrown away, conserving energy and resources.
Pollinator Pathway

Our Paper
Our cards are made using Mohawk Via Felt cardstock, which is FSC-certified as Preferred By Nature and contains 30% post-consumer recycled content. It is also free of elemental and processed chlorine. Visit Mohawk's Environmental Program Attributes page for more information.
Opt-in Plastic-free Packaging
We understand that many customers prefer for their gifts to come with minimal plastic. This is why we offer the option to order Vivid Cottage greeting cards without plastic sleeves. Instead, the cards and envelopes will be bounded with tissue paper.
Printing
Our notepads are printed using the HP Indigo 5500 printer. For more information about the printer’s sustainability features such as oil use reduction, visit the HP Indigo website.
Our totes and towels are made with 100% cotton, woven in India, and printed in California.
Free In-Person Pickup
Customers within 10 miles of Westport, CT are eligible to pick up their order in-person. We encourage nearby residents to choose the in-person pickup option through checkout and cut down on packaging!
Our projects and goals
​Vivid Cottage is currently working to transition towards mostly recycled or recyclable packaging products. This includes innovating ways to display our greeting cards without plastic, where appropriate, and optimizing our boxes and envelopes.
